Here's what I was able to accomplish since the last blog:

  • Added Enemy info on highlight
  • Added hover over tile highlights to make it clear where your cursor was.
  • Added confirmations of battle actions like move location and attack.
  • Added Camera Controls to the HUD.
  • Localization Text Component and Editor Rules
  • Added a battle complete popup when there are no more opponents.
  • Allow users to rotate facing direction at end of turn and rotate bot towards that

This Blog post is goes over the initial AI and UI I started making for the game. I take a look at some issues I encountered with Animators and clips and talk about how I decided to implement the AI and some architecture decisions.

This Blog post is going to be a summary of where I'm at in this new project, how I got here and where I'm going.  There will be some discussions of the process behind the making of the game, the failed attempts, the lessons learned, progress made to date. Specifically here, my focus has been concentrated on the main gameplay experience being the battle system and generated terrain. There will be some graphics programming, gameplay programming, input handling and diving into modelling again.
